Kylie McKenzie works closely with Susan and Amy and focuses on research, stakeholder engagement and business development. The theme and purpose of each of AEM’s client’s events is what motivates her. This is vital when seeking potential sponsors and exhibitors or new attendees. She builds momentum by providing compelling reasons for organisations to become involved with the event. Strong research skills enable Kylie to confidently seek the right contacts and connections for the success of an event. Onsite at the event, she actively ensures positive outcomes are generated and that stakeholders receive value from meeting face to face.

Kylie has more than 30 years’ experience, in the Tourism, Event and Hospitality industry. She started working with Absolute Events & Marketing in 2020. Prior to her time at AEM, for more than 12 years, Kylie worked promoting Brisbane as a destination for international and national conferences through her role at the Brisbane Economic Development Agency (Brisbane EDA). This experience has given her valuable knowledge across a wide range of industry sectors.

She has worked extensively in the association sector and won a scholarship to travel to the USA with the Associations Forum on their annual Associations Study Tour.

As well as working to bring conferences to Brisbane during her time at Brisbane EDA Kylie worked on significant projects such as designing the program for the Improving Human Life session of Global Café which leveraged G20. Another successful collaboration was initiating familiarisations during the World Science Festival Brisbane. This exposed Brisbane’s science community to greater international engagement. Kylie also previously ran the prestigious Lord Mayor’s Convention Trailblazer Grant. This was aimed at professionals from associations, corporate, government and academic fields. She was highly successful in this role and retains connections with the Tourism and Convention Bureaux, and Regional Tourism Organisations.
