A Team Led By A Long Term Industry Expert
Susan Harris, BBus(Mktg), AEP, would be your Event Director and the key contact throughout the duration of the contract. Susan has more than 22 years’ experience in organising events and marketing for a wide range of sectors and has in-depth understanding of the needs of associations and member-based organisations.
In 2012, she was awarded Meetings & Events Australia’s (MEA) 2011 National Meetings Manager of the Year and has been an Accredited Event Professional (AEP) with MEA since 2007 – and is the only AEP in Queensland.
One of the advantages of working with Susan as your Event Director is that it’s her business and you will have the same key management team all the way through your event. She, and her team, are invested in ensuring repeat clients and continuing to build relationships and working in partnership with clients.
As a Conference & Event Manager, Susan has organised more than 350 events ranging from conferences (from 30 to 1,100 people with complex speaking programs), exhibitions (from 15 to 100 booths), a series of Expos (total attendance of 45,800+ over 9 locations throughout Queensland), workshops, through to gala dinners, cocktail parties, awards nights and an international conference launch. Susan has been instrumental in the success of key conferences and projects.
Susan is extremely proud of the achievements made while owning and managing AEM – from starting without any clients, she has built the business into a widely-respected boutique PCO firm with repeat clients, high level of referrals and reputation as a leading, ethical and transparent event management company.
As an Event & Marketing Manager, Susan has 22 years’ experience. She started her event and marketing career working in an advertising agency, then moved to a property developer as Marketing Co-Ordinator. After this role, she moved to Aged Care Queensland as Conference & Marketing Co-Ordinator – all while studying part time for her Bachelor of Business (Marketing) degree. At the end of her degree, she was promoted to Marketing & Events Manager and led a team of five. She managed all marketing and business development for Aged Care Queensland (ACQ) – including industry and consumer publications, website redevelopment, conferences and events, advertising, plus external marketing of ACQ to consumer and industry through regular seminars, trade shows and regular advertising and articles.
