What Our Clients Say

VET TEACHING CONFERENCE 2008, 2009 & 2010

“From the preliminary stages of organisation to the successful completion of the event, Susan Harris acted calmly and confidently to meet the project deliverables in a timely and professional capacity.  From securing professional speakers to acquiring sponsorship, Ms Harris used her experience, contacts and knowledge to ensure the VET Teaching Conference transitions smoothly from inception to finish.  Ms Harris was also ably supported by Chris Shaw and a support team whose collaborative efforts culminated in the provision of streamlined reception services at the venue…  Positive feedback from our conference participants is a testament to the high standard of services provided by Absolute Events & Marketing and we would be happy to consider them for future events.”

SSSI Q150 PROJECT 2009

When SSSI Qld Region won an $80,000 grant for a state-wide Q150 project, the Institute employed AEM as project manager. The grant was split between 8 grant groups, and was a complex project involving multiple events hosted by volunteer groups throughout the State. It was imperative that the profile of SSSI was maintained through a public perception of a professionally managed series of unveiling events, with uniform branding and a high standard of signage accuracy. AEM achieved this, and in addition, observed complex protocols to interface with the Premier’s Department to engage the Premier, Ministers of Parliament, and other dignitaries to unveil monuments. The whole project far exceeded the expectations of the SSSI Qld Working Group, resulting in excellent publicity and high profile for the Institute. AEM managed the challenge of working with time-poor volunteers to stage successful events through the State, bringing the project in on budget, and on time. We owe Susan Harris and her team a debt of gratitude for their commitment and loyalty to this project.

AUSTRALASIAN LAW TEACHERS ASSOCIATION  CONFERENCE (ALTA) 2009 & 2008

"I have been working with Susan Harris and her team at Absolute Events & Marketing for the last two years and it has been a real pleasure.  My original role was as Chair of the ALTA and the conference they ran for James Cook University in 2008.  I was so impressed with the support and organisation that as the current President of ALTA and host of the 64th annual ALTA conference at the University of Western Sydney Law School, I decided to use Absolute Events & Marketing again.  They have been part and parcel of the whole process from the beginning of the first draft of the program to running the major event.  We have over 200 delegates from a number of different countries and covering 3 days of plenary and concurrent sessions.  Susan was always communicative and had many helpful suggestions.  The secure online payment and back-up website were excellent.  I, on behalf of ALTA and UWS, are very happy to recommend Absolute Events to organise a successful conference."

QUEENSLAND SPATIAL CONFERENCE 2008

AEM’s management of the Queensland Spatial Conference in 2008 resulted in a financially successful event, with record sponsorship raised and exhibition fully booked. The technical program was expertly managed, the conference dinner (also an Excellence Awards event), was an outstanding success, and while registrations were challenging to achieve because of the timing and targeting of the event, every care was taken to minimize expense, and maximize attendance through marketing. Susan’s expert use of the Summit event program ensured this highly detailed project was expertly and efficiently managed.

SKILLSTECH AUSTRALIA STAFF DAY 2008

“While we knew what we wanted, we didn’t actually know what was involved in organising such an ambitious event. And it was here that Ms Harris and her team were able to take us on a journey which ensured that everything in the end went smoothly, as they said it would!  ….we benefited here from Ms Harris’ obviously positive relationship with the Brisbane Convention Centre, and her willingness to go that little bit extra to get what we wanted. She was knowledgeable about what would work… and what might not.  Her management of the actual day was superb.  Her staff were polished and professional.”
